Expressing his vision for the Foundation, Dr. Goel said: "As a businessman, I wanted to do something that had leverage. Students who complete their higher education in engineering and medicine with the assistance of the Foundation will have a bigger impact on the Indian and global environment than if they only completed their school studies". Kanwal and Ann Rekhi Foundation Mr. Rekhi received his engineering degree IIT Mumbai and a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Michigan Technological University. He explains his interest in the Foundation in the following words: "If you educate a boy, you educate a person, if you educate a girl, you educate a family down the road". Wadhwani Foundation Dr. Romesh Wadhwani received his bachelor's degree from IIT Mumbai and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr.Wadhwani's interest is to help individuals reach their full potential, improving their own lives and the lives of all their future generations. He believes that the Foundation for Excellence provides an effective way to realize that goal. The Wadhwani Foundation's mission is to accelerate entrepreneurship in emerging economies.
